ARGENTINA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
The Argentina national football team (Spanish: Selección de fútbol de Argentina), commonly known as La Albiceleste(“the White and Sky Blue”), represents Argentina in men’s international football. The team is overseen by the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA), the country’s governing body for the sport. Argentina has been affiliated with FIFA since 1912 and was one of the founding members of CONMEBOL in 1916, helping to shape the structure of South American football.
In addition to its long-standing roles in FIFA and CONMEBOL, Argentina was also part of the Panamerican Football Confederation (PFC), a unified football organization for the Americas that existed from 1946 to 1961. Throughout its history, the national team has been recognized for its distinctive sky-blue-and-white colours, deep footballing tradition, and significant influence on the global development of the sport.
