CURACAO NATAIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
The Curaçao national football team represents Curaçao in men’s international football and is governed by the Federashon Futbòl Kòrsou (FFK), the island’s official football federation. Curaçao is a member of CONCACAF and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), participating in regional competitions as well as FIFA-sanctioned international matches.
The team is nicknamed the Blue Sharks, reflecting the island’s maritime heritage and resilient spirit. Curaçao plays its home matches at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Willemstad, among other venues on the island.
Since the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010, Curaçao has competed under its own name, inheriting the footballing legacy of the former Netherlands Antilles team. Curaçao has made notable progress in regional competitions, including strong performances in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Caribbean Cup, gaining recognition for a technically skilled, fast-paced style of play.
The national team serves as a source of pride for the island’s population and diaspora, providing a pathway for local and international talent to represent Curaçao on the global stage.
