SAUDI ARABIA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
The Saudi Arabia national football team (Arabic: المنتخب السعودي لكرة القدم) represents Saudi Arabia in men’s international football and is governed by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). The team is a member of AFC (Asian Football Confederation) and FIFA, competing in both regional and global competitions.
Nicknamed Al-Akhdar (“The Green”), reflecting their traditional green kit, the team plays its home matches primarily at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia is known for its disciplined tactical play, technical skill, and a strong footballing culture.
The team has qualified for the FIFA World Cup six times: 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, and 2022, with their best performance in 1994, reaching the Round of 16 in the United States. In the AFC Asian Cup, Saudi Arabia has been highly successful, winning the tournament three times (1984, 1988, 1996) and consistently competing at a high level in Asian football.
