QATAR NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Qatar national football team (Arabic: المنتخب القطري لكرة القدم) represents Qatar in men’s international football and is governed by the Qatar Football Association (QFA). Qatar is a member of AFC (Asian Football Confederation) and FIFA, competing in both regional and global tournaments.

Nicknamed Al-Annabi (“The Maroon”), after the maroon color of their kit, the team plays its home matches primarily at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. Qatar is known for its technical play, disciplined approach, and recent significant investment in football development.

Qatar has qualified for the FIFA World Cup twice: 2022 as hosts and previously reaching intercontinental play-offs for earlier editions. The team won the AFC Asian Cup in 2019, marking a historic achievement and showcasing Qatar as a rising power in Asian football.

The national team continues to focus on youth development through initiatives like the Aspire Academy, producing players who compete both domestically and internationally. Qatar’s football identity blends strategy, skill, and determination, and the team’s recent progress has drawn international attention.
