Tony Popovic – Head Coach, Socceroos
Appointed in September 2024, Tony Popovic leads the Socceroos through to the FIFA World Cup 2026™, marking a new chapter for the national team. A former Socceroo with 58 caps who played professionally in Australia, Japan, England, and Qatar, Popovic was part of Australia’s 2006 World Cup squad and enjoyed a standout spell at Crystal Palace.

Since retiring in 2008, Popovic has built a successful coaching career, managing Western Sydney Wanderers, Perth Glory, and Melbourne Victory, as well as brief stints in Turkey and Greece. His coaching honours include two A-League Premierships, an Australia Cup, and the 2014 AFC Asian Champions League with the Wanderers.
