Club Career — Key Clubs & Milestones

Here’s a breakdown of where he’s played, and how his club career has developed through the years:

Club / Period Notes
Austria Wien II (2013–2017) He made his debut for the second team in September 2014
Austria Wien (1st team)(2016–2022) Pentz made his senior-team debut on 15 May 2016 (final match day of the 2015–16 season), a 3–0 win.
From 2017–18 onward he mostly served as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper (with a brief exception during 2019–20).
In his final seasons at Austria Wien he was voted the best goalkeeper in the Austrian Bundesliga (2020-21 and 2021-22).
Stade Reims (France)(2022–2023) After leaving Austria Wien, he signed with Reims. He began as their starting goalkeeper, but after 7 appearances (and 14 goals conceded) he lost his place and eventually left.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Germany) (Jan 2023 – mid 2023) Bayer Leverkusen signed him in January 2023 — partly as back-up due to another keeper’s injury.
However, he didn’t make a first-team appearance before being loaned out later in 2023.
Brøndby IF (Denmark)(loan from 2023, permanent from 2024) On 18 August 2023, he joined Brøndby on a season-long loan. He made his debut 10 days later — and kept a clean sheet in a 1–0 away win.
He stayed as first choice all season, registering many clean sheets across league and cup competitions.
On 10 June 2024 Brøndby made the move permanent, signing him to a long-term contract.
He has since become one of their key players.

In short: after spending his early senior years and prime developmental period at Austria Wien, Pentz’s move abroad had a rocky start — but his loan and subsequent permanent move to Brønd by revitalized his career with regular playing time and strong performances.

International Career
  • As a youth, Pentz represented Austria at U19 and U21 levels.

  • He made his senior debut for the Austria national football team on 29 March 2022 — substituted in during a friendly against Scotland.

  • Since 2022, he has become a regular option for the national team and has accumulated multiple caps.

Recognitions & Playing Style
  • At Austria Wien he was named Best Goalkeeper of the Austrian Bundesliga for two consecutive seasons (2020-21 and 2021-22).

  • At Brøndby, his 2024 season was very successful: he was awarded Brøndby Player of the Year 2024 and also Danish Goalkeeper of the Year (Det Gyldne Bur 2024).
