Nmecha scored the winning goal in the U18 Premier League Cup final on 19 March 2019, against Middlesbrough U18. On 3 November 2020, Nmecha provided an assist for João Cancelo on his Champions League debut for City as a substitute for Kevin De Bruyne in a 3–0 home win over Olympiacos in the group stage.Nmecha was released by City at the end of his contract on 30 June 2021.

Club Career
  • Manchester City → Early Career: Nmecha progressed through Manchester City’s youth ranks, but senior opportunities were limited.

  • VfL Wolfsburg (2021–2023): He moved to Wolfsburg seeking regular first‑team football. Over two seasons he played roughly 50 games, and gradually established himself, especially in the 2022/23 season, when he became a key midfield figure — scoring and assisting and drawing attention to his all‑around midfield profile.

  • Borussia Dortmund (2023–present): In summer 2023 he transferred to Dortmund. By 2025, he’s wearing the number 8 shirt and is considered a “box‑to‑box” midfielder: combining physicality, speed, stamina, and technical quality — seen as a mix of defensive solidity and offensive support.

  • He’s already contributed goals, assists, and key midfield work for Dortmund in Bundesliga and European competitions.

Style of Play & Strengths
  • Box‑to‑Box Midfielder: Nmecha combines physical strength, athleticism, and technical skill. He’s capable defensively (tackling, duels) and offensively (carrying the ball, shots, transitions).

  • Speed & Work Rate: Despite being 1.88–1.90 m tall, he’s noted for impressive pace (top speeds around 34–35 km/h), high stamina, and a work-rate that allows him to cover a lot of ground during matches.

  • Technical & Physical Blend: Nmecha’s comfort on the ball — even under pressure — combined with his physical attributes (height, strength) makes him suited to modern midfield roles: able to defend, carry, pass, and shoot.

  • Versatility: He can play as a more defensive‑minded midfielder, as a dynamic box‑to‑box runner, or even in more advanced roles depending on the tactical setup — giving his coaches flexibility.

International Career
  • Because of his early years in both Germany and England, Nmecha represented youth teams from both countries at various times.

  • In March 2023, he earned his first senior cap for the Germany national football team.

  • As of recent updates, he has made multiple appearances for Germany — establishing himself as a potential regular depending on form and fitness.
