Cyle Christopher Larin is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a striker or left winger for Eredivisie club Feyenoord, on loan from La Liga club Mallorca, and represents the Canada national team.
Larin comes from a sporting family, with his brother Elijah and sister Casandra also involved in athletics. His mother, Patricia Larin, was born in Montréal, Québec, while his father was born in Clarendon, Jamaica. Growing up, he played hockey, basketball, and soccer, beginning organized soccer at age seven with Brampton YSC. His favourite players and teams included Didier Drogba and Chelsea FC.
Internationally, Larin has been a key figure for Canada. He represented the national team at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, helped Canada win the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (2021–22), earned a Concacaf Silver Medal in the 2022–23 Nations League, reached the semifinals of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, and contributed to Canada’s fourth-place finish at the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024. He is also notable for his goal-scoring record: he was Canada’s joint top goalscorer in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 2015 and 2016 (four goals in 10 international matches), and both Concacaf’s and Canada’s top goalscorer in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 2021 and 2022 (13 goals in 16 international matches).
At the club level, Larin is recognized for his pace, finishing ability, and versatility in attack, capable of playing both as a central striker and on the wing. He has played professionally in multiple leagues, including North America and Europe, establishing himself as one of Canada’s most prolific forwards.
