Mathieu Choinière is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, or right winger for Major League Soccer club Los Angeles FC, on loan from Swiss Super League side Grasshopper, and for the Canada national team.

Choinière speaks French and English and comes from a soccer family—his brother, David, is also a professional player. His father, Daniel Choinière, was born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, and his mother, Danielle Dubuc, was born in Calgary, Alberta. Although he was born at the hospital in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, his family lived in nearby St-Alexandre. He began playing soccer at age four with Soccer Haut-Richelieu.

Off the pitch, he enjoys video games and spending time with friends and family. His favourite players growing up included Luka Modrić and James Rodríguez, and he supported the Montreal Impact.

Internationally, he represented Canada at one CONMEBOL Copa América, helping the team finish fourth at USA 2024.

At club level with CF Montréal, he is a two-time Canadian Championship (Voyageurs Cup) winner, lifting the trophy in 2019 and 2021.
