TUNISIA NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM
The Tunisia national football team (Arabic: المنتخب التونسي لكرة القدم) represents Tunisia in men’s international football and is governed by the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF; Fédération Tunisienne de Football). Tunisia is a member of CAF (Confederation of African Football) and FIFA, competing in both African and global tournaments.
Nicknamed The Eagles of Carthage (Les Aigles de Carthage), the team plays its home matches primarily at the Stade Olympique de Radès in Tunis. Tunisia is known for its disciplined tactical play, strong defensive organization, and growing technical capability.
Tunisia has qualified for the FIFA World Cup six times: 1978, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2018, and 2022, becoming the first African team to win a World Cup match, defeating Mexico 3–1 in 1978. In the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Tunisia won their only title in 2004, when they hosted the tournament, and have consistently been competitive in regional competitions.
The national team emphasizes youth development through domestic leagues and football academies, producing players who compete both locally and abroad. Tunisian football is characterized by discipline, resilience, and a passionate fan base, making the team one of Africa’s respected footballing nations.
