Unai Simón Mendibil is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Athletic Bilbao in La Liga and represents the Spain national team. A lifelong Athletic player, he joined the club’s famed Lezama academy at a young age and rose steadily through its ranks, gaining experience with the farm team (CD Basconia) and the reserve side (Bilbao Athletic).

Simón made his senior debut for Athletic in 2018 and quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, noted for his composure under pressure, strong shot-stopping ability, and confident command of the penalty area.
