Kwasi Poku is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Challenger Pro League club RWDM Brussels and represents the Canada national team.
Poku speaks English and comes from a sports-oriented family; his cousin, Colin Grant, is an athlete. His father, Joe, was born in Kumasi, Ghana, while his mother, Dian, was born in Scarborough, Ontario. He grew up playing both soccer and basketball and began organized soccer at age six with Brampton East SC. Off the field, Poku enjoys sports and music. Growing up, his favourite soccer players and clubs included Neymar, Chelsea FC, and Borussia Dortmund, while he also followed athletes such as Kevin Durant, Rafael Nadal, and LaMelo Ball.
