Samuel Piette is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defensive midfielder for Major League Soccer club CF Montréal and represents the Canada national team.

Piette speaks French, English, Spanish, and German. Both of his parents, Stephan Piette and Linda Bélanger, were born in Montréal, Quebec. He began playing organized soccer at age four with Lionceaux de Le Gardeur. Outside of soccer, Piette enjoys tennis, golf, and spending time with friends and family. Growing up, his favourite soccer players included Andrés Iniesta, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, and Dani Alves, while he supported Impact Montréal and FC Barcelona. He also followed tennis star Rafael Nadal and the Montréal Canadiens in ice hockey.

Internationally, Piette represented Canada at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, helped Canada win the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers (2021–22), reached the semifinals of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, and contributed to Canada’s fourth-place finish at the CONMEBOL Copa América USA 2024. As a youth, he played at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico 2011, where the Technical Study Group described him as an “energetic and competitive defensive midfielder.”

Piette is known for his tactical awareness, stamina, and defensive discipline, making him a pivotal presence in midfield for both club and country.
